City chic meets mountain views at an Aspen, Colorado, residence listed for $13.995 million.
Recently remodeled, the open floor plan, tall ceilings and sliding glass doors allow for far-reaching views of the Rocky Mountains, according to the listing with Steven Shane of Compass.
“The compelling contemporary architectural design features a striking exterior with an impeccable blend of cool interior textures and finishes reminiscent of a Tribeca [in New York] penthouse,” he said in an email. The home hit the market late last month.
Built in 1989, the property is just over a mile from Aspen Mountain Ski Resort, one of four ski resorts in Aspen. Located in the neighborhood of Knollwood in East Aspen—“a perennial favorite of Aspenites in the know,” according to the listing.
The nearly 4,500-square-foot home is clad in warm wood and dusty blue exterior siding, listing photos show.
Inside, industrial details like exposed scaffolding and a metal staircase give the home its city feel. But wood accents and furnishings, plus the backdrop of the rugged Rockies, according to the listing.
That includes the dining area, in which a long wooden table sits next to a wall of windows with a deck beyond. The adjacent eat-in kitchen has a marble island and sleek white cabinetry.
There are four en-suite bedrooms, and the primary bedroom suite offers a sitting area, private outdoor space and a bathroom with two vanities, a soaking tub and separate shower, according to listing photos.
Other amenities include an office with what could be rather distracting views of the mountains, an outdoor hot tub, a lower level entertainment area with a kitchenette and a two-car garage.
The residence last traded in 2017 for $2.675 million, according to property records. The owners were not available for comment.
