Most of us can only dream about living in a mansion dubbed a “flawless masterpiece” with one of the southern hemisphere’s largest sky-framed windows and stunning views of the mighty Swan River from every room.
For those of us less accustomed to such home design excellence, the sky-frame out of Switzerland uses advanced technology and a sleek design to allow for what can only be described as truly uninterrupted views.
Zorzi Builders construction director Nick D’Ercole said the owners of the Dalkeith home, known as The Peak, were much like most people building in the over-$3.5 million bracket. They wanted automated luxury, energy efficiency, and views.
“People are very much into views and the windows in the home are getting bigger and bigger,” he said. “It’s all panoramic.”
It was a challenge to move the massive panels of glass required in this build, which at the touch of a button slide open at the loungeroom level.
The floors underneath the carpets are heated. The spiral staircase doubles as an art piece.
Despite the many windows allowing views of the water below – and within the home, meaning you can see through the building from the alfresco to the back of the house – there are many opaque skylights throughout which allow a diffused light.
Not to mention a climate-controlled wine cellar to fit a couple hundred bottles of wine, stone throughout, and a putting green on the roof.
Zorzi Builders won the Master Builders-Bankwest Housing Excellence Awards′ top prize for quality workmanship of new build for the house last weekend. Built by Zorzi, the home was designed by Andrew Boughton of Boughton Architecture.
